After a quality door core is carefully selected for your project based on the architectural specifications and unique criteria such as exposure, a solid wood edge in the species of your choice is glued to the core utilizing our new Weinig Profipress radio-frequency edge-gluer. Northwest Millwork is proud to be the first company in the United States to install this piece of equipment, and we are very excited about the benefits we are experiencing with this technology. The veneers for our door stiles and rails are sawn from solid lumber at our plant utilizing the Wintersteiger frame saw, and are a generous 3.5mm (1/8”) before finish sanding. The veneers (or lamellos) are then glued to the core material using our new Italpresse 24060 Bagnatica press. Parts are machined for construction holes and pre-machined for finish hardware using a CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) router. Finally, assembly of door parts is accomplished using the Italpresse Falcon/2000 Door Clamp prior to final sanding.
