About Northwest Millwork

Brother and sister, Dave Carlson and Shelley Slater, head the company bringing a wide range of knowledge and experience that complement each other well. After their father John Carlson retired from the company, Dave and Shelley took the reins of management and eventually ownership of the business.

Having made her own way in the construction industry, Shelley joined Northwest Millwork in 1997 with 10 years of experience as a Project Engineer with Sellen Construction and a degree in Building Construction from the University of Washington. Now President, with an insider’s knowledge Shelley anticipates and caters to the needs of the General Contractor, Architect and Owner.

Dave learned his craft the old-fashioned way. Starting as an apprentice for Northwest Millwork in 1974, he worked his way through the ranks as journeyman, foreman, plant manager, and is now Vice President. Dave’s technical skills are second to none, his talents and attention to detail are evident in the quality of Northwest Millwork’s end product.
